Relics

In the mid 80’s, when me and my mates started hanging around in town, we spent a lot of time (though not a lot of money) in the CaféTabac. It was either there or one down Button Street as it was nearer to Probe. And I took photos. And then later when I was hanging around with the people who designed Baa Bar, I took some photos of them, carrying the original sign down Bold Street. Fast forward to recent times, when both venues were introducing some new design ideas, those photographs ended up being incorporated into the venues. Quite the honour and pretty amazing to see that both places are still doing so well. Think my Baa Bar days are well and truly over but I still love visiting the Tabac and I’ve upped my game since the days when tea for two meant two hours nursing the same cup.
